TIPS FOR ROLEPLAYING ON BERKLEY
1. Don't get upset if you feel like people are ignoring you or are acting distant. Maybe they haven't noticed you or they simply don't have anything to say in response to your thread/comment. If your thread does go unanswered after a few days, feel free to mention it to others in the cbox or contact an admin if you prefer. We'll be glad to help out. But remember, it isn't you or your capacity to write well. Don't take things personally if they don't go as you hoped.
2. If you want to connect with the other members, your first stop is getting involved in the cbox! It doesn't matter if two people seem to be so close (coughaprilcoughjaredcough), it doesn't mean they're going to exclude you if you join the conversation. And that's it. Don't pop up and say "hi" and then say nothing at all. Join in! Get an ear in on what they're talking about and give your input! We don't ignore people, as much as some people seem to think. Alternatively, you can go join in the games in the OOC section, or start a thread in the OOC section for talking. People aren't going to come running to you if you're doing nothing so remember that!
3. Avoid touchy subjects such as politics, religion or other heavy topics OOC. I don't feel comfortable seeing people talking about that kinda shtick anyway. Keep up a light conversation.
4. We don't have a limit on characters, but don't overdo it yourself. Put some serious thought into each new character you make. Are you making them off a whim? An idea for someone in your head that you're dying to try out? That's all fine and dandy, but due to your eccentricity with this new character, will your other characters get pushed aside? Will you get bored of this one after the rush of excitement has passed? Think about it. Lord knows I need to..
